St. Joseph's captures third straight Skyline Conference Women's Cross Country Championship

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - St. Joseph’s College cruised to its third straight Skyline Conference women’s cross country title, placing five runners in the top 12 on Sunday at Bard College. The Golden Eagles compiled a team score of 34, finishing well ahead of second-place Bard (75). Purchase (103) edged Mount Saint Mary (104) for third place. The field of 10 teams and 74 runners was the largest in the history of the Skyline Women’s Cross Country Championship.

St. Joseph’s junior Brittany Carter captured the individual championship, covering the 5,000-meter course in 20:33, a 6:37 pace.

In addition to Carter, St. Joseph’s sophomore Elyse Patrella (3rd; 21:31), senior Katie Baudier (8th; 22:14), senior Bridget Kissinger (10th; 22:18) and junior Michelle Petrina (12th; 22:25) also figured in the team scoring for the Golden Eagles. St. Joseph’s displayed its depth by placing 10 runners among the top 23 finishers.

The top 14 individuals earned All-Skyline honors with the first seven runners being named to the First Team and the second seven runners earning a spot on the Second Team. Additional all-conference first-team runners included Angelica Iribarne of Mount Saint Vincent (2nd; 21:20), Maya Seegers of Purchase (4th; 21:57), Catie Biordi of Mount Saint Mary (5th; 21:59), Erica Ball of Bard (6th; 22:05), and Margaux Pickell of Polytechnic (7th; 22:06).
