Maritime College rolled to a 23-5 victory over Alvernia in its season opener. Freshman attack Chris Toby, who earns the initial Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week award for 2008, was part of a balanced Privateer offense. Toby scored two goals and added two assists and three ground balls. Maritime had 13 different goal scorers, including nine players with at least two goals.
