Mount Saint Mary College senior Matt Peters, the Skyline Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Year, set three individual school records and contributed to two relay records at the Metropolitan Championships held at Rutgers University. Leading off the 400-freestyle relay, Peters set a school record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.26. He also led off the 200-medley relay and the 400-medley relay with school records in the 50-backstroke (25.41) and the 100-backstroke (54.32). The 400-medley relay went on to break the school record with a time of 4:00.74. Peters also led off the record-setting 800-freestyle relay that finished in 7:49.21, breaking the school record by almost ten seconds. Peters scored points in all three of his individual events, including a 13th-place finish in the 100-backstroke (55.07), a 17th-place finish in the 200-backstroke (2:05.77), and a 24th-place finish in the 100-butterfly (55.51).
