Freshman Brian Day had a big day in helping Maritime College capture its first Skyline Conference Men’s Swimming Championship. Day, who earned Skyline Rookie of the Year honors, captured both the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:21.28) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.33) while also swimming a leg on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:46.45). He came from behind in the final lap to win the 500-free by less than a second.
