Purchase College freshman Melanie Lopez has had an impressive start to her collegiate career, going 2-1 at both first singles and first doubles. In her first match, Lopez defeated 2006 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year Paisley Coats of cross-town rival Manhattanville as the Panthers earned a 5-4 team victory. She also picked up wins at first singles and first doubles as Purchase defeated Yeshiva in its first Skyline match.
