Junior right-hander Chris Mattson was a workhorse for Centenary College last week. In 16 innings of work, Mattson surrendered just seven hits and one run while striking out seven in a 2-0 week. He allowed just one hit and no runs in seven innings in a victory over Merchant Marine. Mattson followed up that performance with a nine-inning complete game in a 2-1 victory over St. Joseph’s. Opponents are batting just .226 against him.
