Junior left-hander James Hoffman pitched a nine-inning complete-game to lead Maritime College to a 3-2 victory in the first game and an eventual sweep of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Hoffman, who surrendered just three hits and two runs, carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning before the Mariners rallied for two runs on three hits. The Skyline Conference win was the first for the Privateers since an 11-2 victory over Farmingdale State on April 25, 2004, breaking a string of 50 straight conference losses.
