St. Joseph’s College senior Jennifer Martinez, last season’s Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year, already appears to be in mid-season form. On the Golden Eagles’ spring trip to Myrtle Beach, Martinez pitched 34.0 innings in five games, allowed just three hits and four runs (none earned) while striking out 90 (18.5 per game) and walking just five. She tied her own NCAA Division III record with 21 strikeouts in a 1-0 nine-inning victory against Shawnee State. Martinez tossed no-hitters against Shawnee and Shepherd along with three one-hitters.
