The United States Merchant Marine Academy opened its season with a strong 4-0 start behind the outstanding play of senior attack Sean Dougherty. Dougherty, who has scored at least three goals in all four Mariner victories, currently leads the Skyline Conference in both points per game (5.75) and goals per game (4.25). He came up big in a pair of one-goal victories. Dougherty six goals in an 11-10 win over Franklin & Marshall and five goals in a 12-11 Skyline victory over Richard Stockton.
