Farmingdale State College opened its season by winning five of its first eight games. Junior right fielder Anthony Mazzilli batted .529 with five extra-base hits and seven runs batted in during that stretch. He had four multiple-hit games including a 2-for-4 performance with a home run and four runs batted in in a 12-6 win over Gwynedd-Mercy in the Rams’ first game in Florida. Mazzilli also went 3-for-6 with two doubles and a triple in a doubleheader split against Muhlenberg.
