Featured in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd last week, Mount Saint Mary College senior guard Mike Hoyt continues to score at a torrid pace. Last week, Hoyt averaged 43.0 points while shooting 49.3 percent (37-for-75) from the field and 87.8 percent (43-for-49) from the free-throw line. His 55-point effort against Manhattanville was his third 50+ game in his last six games. In 12 games since the beginning of January, Hoyt has scored 504 points (42.0 per game). He now leads all NCAA divisions in scoring.
