Junior center Shuki Merlis, who averaged 24.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Yeshiva University earns Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. Merlis shot 77.8 percent (21-for-27) as the Maccabees earned victories over Lehman and Medgar Evers. Merlis had 20 points (10-for-13) with two blocked shots against Lehman. He added 28 points (11-for-14) along with 14 rebounds versus Medgar Evers. Merlis currently leads the conference in field goal percentage (67.0).
