Farmingdale State College freshman right-hander Chris Phelan returned to his hometown and surrendered just five hits and one run over six innings to help the Rams complete a sweep of St. Joseph’s College and earn the top seed in the conference tournament. In just his third start of the season, Phelan struck out five and walked just one in improving his record to 2-1.
