May Marie Hayes Award Rookie of the Week Week Of 1/2/2005 Sport Women's Basketball School Merchant Marine Year Position Hometown High School Freshman guard May Marie Hayes earns Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after helping the United States Merchant Marine Academy split a pair of games at the Lehman Christmas Classic. Hayes, who averaged 15.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, was named to the all-tournament team. She recorded season/career-highs with 26 points and 16 rebounds in the Mariners’ 63-51 victory over New Jersey City University.
