Directions listed are to the main campus of each institution. Directions to off-campus athletic facilities are listed after the directions to each institution’s main campus. To print a copy of the directions for an individual institution, click on the PDF link below.

BARD COLLEGE
Stevenson Gymnasium

From New York City, New Jersey, and points south:  Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 19 (Kingston), take Route 209 (changes to Route 199 at the Hudson River) over the Kingston/Rhinecliff Bridge to Route 9G. At the second light after the bridge, turn left onto Route 9G, and drive north 3.5 miles to flashing light. Turn left onto Annandale Road. At fork in road bear right and continue onto campus. Look for for the Stevenson Gymnasium on your left.

From Albany:  Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 19 and proceed as from New York City.

From southern Connecticut:  Follow I-84 to the Taconic State Parkway, take the Taconic north to the Red Hook/Route 199 exit, drive west on Route 199 through the village of Red Hook to Route 9G. Turn right onto Route 9G, drive north 1.6 miles to flashing light, and turn left onto Annandale Road. At fork in road bear right and continue onto campus. Look for for the Stevenson Gymnasium on your left.

From northern Connecticut:  Take Route 44 to Route 199 at Millerton, drive west on Route 199, and proceed as from southern Connecticut.

From Massachusetts and northern New England:  Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit B-2 (Taconic Parkway). Take the Taconic Parkway south to the Red Hook/Route 199 exit, and proceed as from southern Connecticut.

General parking for the Stevenson Gymnasium is across Annandale Road. Parking for athletics teams is available behind the building via Woods Road, immediately south.

From the Northern State Parkway: Take Exit 40 South - Route 110. Travel South on Route 110, approximately 3 miles to Melville Road (past first entrance); turn right onto Melville Road. From the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495): Take Exit 49 South - Route 110. Keep to right and take EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) just before Throgs Neck Bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork, then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. Turn left on Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.

From Manhattan (East Side): North on East River Drive (FDR Drive) to either:
(a) Willis Avenue Bridge (no toll) then keep right to Bruckner Blvd. to ramp leading to I-278 Bruckner Expressway, then follow Throgs Neck Bridge signs to EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) just before bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork, then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. Turn left on Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.
(b) Triborough Bridge ($4.00 toll) follow "New England" signs to Throgs Neck Bridge signs to EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) just before bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork, then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. Turn left on Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.

From Manhattan (West Side): North on West Side Highway to 178 Street EXIT to I-95 North Cross Bronx Expressway. Follow Throgs Neck Bridge signs to EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) just before bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork, then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. Turn left on Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.

From New Jersey via George Washington Bridge: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to New York and I-95 North, then follow signs to Throgs Neck Bridge to EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) before bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork and then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. Turn left on Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.

From Upper New York State: Palisades Parkway South to George Washington Bridge, I-95 North, then follow 295 South to Throgs Neck Bridge and take EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) just before bridge. At EXIT 9 (Harding Ave/Fort Schuyler) take left fork, then make immediate right on to Harding Avenue. Proceed along Harding Avenue to stop sign. From Long Island and Long Island Expressway (I-495): West on Long Island Expressway to either Cross Island Parkway or Clearview Expressway to I-295 North to Throgs Neck Bridge; take Pennyfield Avenue-Fort Schuyler exit immediately after far-right toll station. Proceed along service road to 2nd stop sign (2 blocks). Make left on to overpass to Pennyfield Avenue to Maritime College gatehouse.

From the West: From the west take I-84E to Exit 10. At the bottom of the ramp take a right onto 9W South. At the first traffic light take a left onto North Plank Road. (You’ll see a large Sunoco gas station at this intersection.) Stay on North Plank Road 1/4 mile and turn right at the first traffic light onto Powell Avenue. The College is about 1/4 mile further on your left.

From the North or South: Take the Garden State Parkway or Route 17 North to the New York State Thruway (I-87N-Albany). Follow the Thruway to Exit 17-Newburgh. Take I-84E and follow the directions for traveling to campus "From the West."

From the East: If you’re traveling to campus from the east take I-84W to the second exit after the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge (Exit 10S). At the bottom of the ramp make a right onto Route 32 and then another right at the first traffic light onto 9W South. At the second traffic light, take a left onto North Plank Road. (You’ll see a large Sunoco gas station at this intersection.) Stay on North Plank Road 1/4 mile and turn right at the first traffic light onto Powell Avenue. The College is about 1/4 mile further on your left.

From the West (New Jersey, Pennsylvania): Take the George Washington Bridge. Exit for Henry Hudson Parkway NORTH. Northbound, take Exit 22, West 253rd St. Turn right at the stop sign and bear right over the parkway to Riverdale Avenue. Proceed on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

From the South (Brooklyn, Staten Island, Manhattan): Proceed north on Manhattan’s West Side Highway to the Henry Hudson Parkway NORTH. Northbound, take Exit 22, West 253rd St. Turn right at the stop sign and bear right over the parkway to Riverdale Avenue. Proceed on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

From the East (Long Island, Queens): Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expressway. Exit at Rosedale Ave/Bronx River Parkway. Take Bronx River Parkway NORTH to the Mosholu Parkway. Turn right at the light and take the Mosholu to the Henry Hudson Parkway SOUTH. Southbound, take Exit 22, West 254th Street. Turn left at stop sign, go one block to Riverdale Avenue. Turn right and proceed north on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

Triboro Bridge to Major Deegan Expressway to Exit 11(Van Cortlandt Park SOUTH). Bear right off the expressway to Broadway. Right on Broadway to 261st Street. Left on 261st Street to Riverdale Avenue. Right on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

From the North (Upstate NY, Connecticut, Massachusetts): Take the NY State Thruway, the Taconic State Parkway, Sprain Brook Parkway, Bronx River, or Hutchinson River Parkway SOUTH to the Cross County Parkway WEST to the Saw Mill River Parkway SOUTH to the Henry Hudson Parkway SOUTH. Follow (1) below. OR Take the Saw Mill Parkway SOUTH to the Henry Hudson Parkway SOUTH. Southbound, take Exit 22, West 254th Street. Turn left at stop sign, go one block to Riverdale Avenue. Turn right and proceed north on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

How to reach the campus from the Henry Hudson Parkway:

Northbound, take Exit 22, West 253rd St. Turn right at the stop sign and bear right over the parkway to Riverdale Avenue. Proceed on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

Southbound, take Exit 22, West 254th Street. Turn left at stop sign, go one block to Riverdale Avenue. Turn right and proceed north on Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street. Turn left into the campus.

The College at Old Westbury is located immediately north of the Long Island Expressway (L.I.E. exit 41N) in the village of Old Westbury, N.Y., approximately 16 miles east of the New York City line. The main entrance to the college is located on the west side of Rte. 107 approximately one-half mile north of Jericho Turnpike.

From the South Shore (Nassau County): Take either Meadowbrook Parkway or Wantagh Parkway to Northern State Parkway eastbound. Exit Northern State at Exit 35 North (Broadway/Rte.107). Proceed north to campus entrance.

From the North Shore (Nassau County): Take either Northern State Parkway or the L.I.E. eastbound to Rte. 107 (Northern State Exit 35 North; L.I.E. Exit 41 North) and proceed north to campus entrance.

From the South Shore (Suffolk County): Take the most convenient north-south road to L.I.E. westbound. Exit 41 North (Broadway/Rte.107) and proceed north to main entrance.

From the North Shore (Suffolk County): Take L.I.E. westbound. Exit 41 North (Broadway/Rte. 107) and proceed north to main entrance.

From Manhattan: take the FDR Drive to the Brooklyn Bridge, make the first left after the bridge onto Tillary Street, and then make a right onto Jay Street.

By Subway: IRT A (expect delays due to emergency construction), F train to Jay Street-Borough Hall; or 2, 3, 4 or 5 train to Borough Hall (walk to Fulton and make left onto Jay)
BMT R or M train to Lawrence Street.

FROM THE VERRAZANO BRIDGE & POINTS SOUTH / WEST:

By Car: Take the Staten Island Expressway (Exit 13 on the New Jersey Turnpike) to the Verrazano Bridge to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway to the Tillary Street Exit. Follow Tillary Street to Jay Street. Make a left to the University.

By Ferry and Subway: Take the ferry to the R train to Brooklyn; Lawrence St. – two blocks to Myrtle Avenue.

FROM LONG ISLAND & POINTS EAST:

By Car: Take the Long Island Expressway or the Grand Central Parkway to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway to the Tillary Street exit. Follow Tillary Street to Jay St. Make a left to the University.

By Train: Take the Long Island Railroad to the Atlantic Avenue Station, then taxi or bus – 67 to Jay Street/Myrtle Avenue. If you’d like to walk, it’s about a mile and a half; walk to the Fulton Mall and make a left to Jay and turn right to Poly. Or take the BMT R or M subway to Lawrence Street Station.

FROM THE GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE & POINTS NORTH / WEST:

By Car: Interstate 95 to I87 South (Major Deegan Expressway) to the Triboro Bridge. Over Bridge to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway to the Tillary Street exit. Follow Tillary Street to Jay Street. Make a left to the University.

By Train and Subway from Westchester: Hudson Harlem or New Haven Lines to Grand Central Station, the IRT 4 or 5 subway to Borough Hall, or same subway to Fulton Street, or the IRT A or C to Jay Street.

From New York City, Southern Westchester, and Long Island: Take the Hutchinson River Parkway north to Exit 28 (Lincoln Avenue). Turn Left onto Lincoln Avenue and proceed approximately one mile to Anderson Hill Road (2nd traffic light). Turn right onto Anderson Hill Road. The campus is immediately on the left.

From Rockland County and northern New Jersey (via the Tappan Zee Bridge): Take I – 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) to Exit 8E. Shortly after first traffic light, bear left onto Anderson Hill Road. Proceed approximately 2.5 miles. The campus is on the left, just after intersection at Lincoln Avenue.

From Northern Westchester: Take I – 684 south to Exit 2 (Route 120), drive over the bridge and turn right onto Route 120 south (Purchase Street). Follow Route 120 south, 3.2 miles to Anderson Hill Road (1st traffic light) and turn left. Turn left at 2nd traffic light into campus.

From Connecticut: Take the Merritt Parkway south (which becomes the Hutchinson River Parkway in New York State) south to New York Exit 28, Lincoln Avenue (Note: Do not get off at Exit 28 in Connecticut). Turn right onto Lincoln Avenue and proceed approximately one mile to Anderson Hill Road (2nd traffic light). Turn right onto Anderson Hill Road. The campus is immediately on the left.

Directions to Robison Athletic Center (Russell Sage Campus):

From the South: Take exit 23 off the New York State Thruway, which will lead you directly onto Rt.787 North. Proceed on Rt. 787 North. See directions from Rt. 787, below.

From the West: Take exit 24 off the New York State Thruway, which will lead directly onto Interstate 90 east. Follow signs for Rt. 787 North. Proceed on Rt. 787 North. See directions from Rt. 787, below.

From the East: At the western end of the Massachusetts Turnpike, continue straight on the New York State Thruway to exit for Troy - B1. After you have taken exit B1, follow signs for 90 West. Take 90 West to exit for Rt. 787 North. Proceed on Rt. 787 North. See directions from Rt. 787, below.

From the North: Exit from Rt. 87 at exit 7, Rt. 7 East. Take Rt. 7 East to the exit ramp marked Downtown Troy. Continue straight off the exit ramp to the third traffic light. The next street is Broadway; turn right onto Broadway. Take Broadway to the end; you will be facing Troy City Hall. Turn left onto River Street and immediately bear left onto First Street. Proceed straight two blocks to the traffic light. Robison Athletic Center is three quarters of the way down the block on your right.

Directions from Route 787: Proceed on Rt. 787 to the 23rd Street Exit - Watervliet, Green Island (do not take the earlier exit marked Troy, NY). At the end of the ramp, turn right. At your next light, turn right and cross over the Green Island Bridge. Turn right at the end of the bridge and go around a Franklin Square Inn and Suites and Parking Garage. At your first light, bear right onto Fulton/River Street (bear right at the statue of Uncle Sam). Take River Street to First Street. Bear left onto First Street and proceed two blocks to the light. Robison Center is three quarters of the way down the block on your right.

Directions to Knickerbacker Field (Home Softball Field):

From Robison Athletic Center on First Street: Turn left onto Liberty Street. Go to the second traffic light and turn left onto Fourth Street. Proceed north on Fourth Street to the Green Island Bridge. After traffic light, follow Rt. 4. Take Rt. 4 north to 106th Street. Turn right at 106th Street and continue straight to Sixth Ave (you will run right into the field).

Directions to Prospect Park (Home Tennis Courts):

From 787: Exit at the 23rd Street Exit - Watervliet, Green Island (do not take the earlier exit marked Troy, NY). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left. Go through one blinking yellow light, continue to the second red light and turn left onto Rt. 32, heading south. Go to the first light and turn left. You will now be going over the Congress Street Bridge. Go straight through the Russell Sage College Tunnel. You will now be on Rt. 2. Continue on Rt. 2 through town. Prospect Park will be up hill on your right.

Directions to Menands School (Soccer):

From I-787 North or South: Exit at Rt. 32/Menands Exit 6. Take a left off the exit ramp, get into the right land, and make your first right (bear right) onto Wards Lane (On the Run Mini Mart is at the intersection). Continue on Wards Lane for a few hundred yards; turn right into Menands School entrance road. The soccer field is behind the school. Parking is in the main lot adjacent to the school.

ST. JOSEPH’S COLLEGE

From Long Island Expressway and major North/South Roadways: Veterans Highway, Patchogue-Holbrook Road, and Nicolls Road are the best routes from the North Shore of Long Island via the Long Island Expressway (I-495). The L.I.E., as it is known, extends from the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan to just outside the town of Riverhead on the east side of Long Island.

Veterans Memorial Highway (Exit 57 off L.I.E.): Travel South on Veterans Highway (Route 454) to Sunrise Highway (Route 27). Take Sunrise eastbound to Waverly Avenue (Exit 52). The college entrance and parking facilities are located 1000 feet beyond the traffic light on Waverly Avenue.

Patchogue-Holbrook Road (Exit 61 off L.I.E.): Take the Patchogue–Holbrook Road (Route 19) south. This road will eventually become Waverly Avenue. Take Waverly just over the Sunrise Highway overpass and make a left at the light, onto the Sunrise Highway service road. The college entrance and parking facilities are located 1000 feet on the right.

Nicolls Road (Exit 62 off the L.I.E.): Nicolls Road (Route 97) intersects Patchogue–Holbrook Road. Take Patchogue–Holbrook south. This road will eventually become Waverly Avenue. Take Waverly just over the Sunrise Highway overpass and make a left at the light, onto the Sunrise Highway service road. The college entrance and parking facilities are located 1000 feet on the right.

From Sunrise Highway: Sunrise Highway (Route 27) extends from the Queens County border to the Hamptons. Route 27 itself runs from Brooklyn to Montauk. Sunrise Highway intersects other major roadways such as the Southern State Parkway, Veterans Memorial Highway, Sagtikos Parkway/Robert Moses Causeway, and most North/South roads on Long Island.

From the East: Travel west on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) to Exit 52. Turn left at the first light onto Waverly Avenue, over the overpass, then turn left again at the next light onto the Sunrise Highway service road. The college entrance and parking facilities are located 1000 feet to the right.

From the West: Travel east on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) to Exit 52 - Waverly Avenue. Continue on the Sunrise Highway service road. The College entrance and parking facilities are located 1000 feet beyond the traffic light, past Waverly Avenue.

From New Jersey and Upstate New York (via George Washington Bridge):
a) Amsterdam Avenue exit -right turn onto Amsterdam Avenue, (175th Street) proceed north to the Main Campus area. The Max Stern Athletic Center (MSAC) is on Amsterdam Ave. at 185th street.
b) 178th Street Exit -continue straight on 178th Street to Amsterdam Avenue, left turn onto Amsterdam Avenue, proceed north to the Main Campus area. The MSAC is on Amsterdam Ave. at 185th street.

From Brooklyn/Lower Manhattan (via West Side Highway): West Side Highway north to 178th Street Exit, continue with George Washington Bridge directions (b) above.
From Brooklyn/Lower Manhattan (via Harlem River Drive): FDR Drive/ Harlem River Drive north to179th Street exit, follow ramp to Amsterdam Avenue, right onto Amsterdam Avenue, proceed north to the Main Campus area The MSAC is on Amsterdam Ave. at 185th street.

From Queens/Long Island (via Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge to Cross Bronx Expressway): Cross Bronx Expressway west to the Amsterdam Avenue Exit, follow signs to Amsterdam Avenue, at the light (181st Street) right onto Amsterdam Avenue, proceed north to the Main Campus area. The MSAC is on Amsterdam Ave. at 185th street.
From Queens/Long Island (via Triboro Bridge): Exit to Harlem River Drive North, (follow signs to George Washington Bridge), continue with Harlem River Drive directions as above.

From Westchester County/Connecticut (via Saw Mill River/Henry Hudson Parkway-south): 181st Street exit, 181st Street to Amsterdam Avenue, left on Amsterdam Avenue-continue as with George Washington Bridge directions (b) above.

OFF-CAMPUS FACILITIES

Tennis: Binghamton Racquet Club – Edgewater, NJ.

From New York (via George Washington Bridge): Take upper level. Exit at Lemoine Ave. (first exit). At stop sign make sharp right down ramp and proceed to the end (Hudson Terrace); turn right to fork in road. Bear left at fork (River Road). Club is approximately 2 miles on left on River Road.

From Upstate New York (via Palisades Parkway South): To George Washington Bridge. Just before bridge toll take exit on right. Make left turn onto Hudson Terrace and proceed as above.

From New Jersey (Route 80 East or Route 4 East): Take to last New Jersey exit before George Washington Bridge. From exit, continue east to Hudson Terrace. Go right until fork in road and proceed as above.

If you take Route 46E, exit at Route 5 and continue east. Wind along Route 5 to the bottom. Turn right at bottom. Club is a short distance ahead on left.
