Farmingdale State senior, Chris Fischer
NEW YORK | The seven Skyline Conference golf coaches have voted on their preseason coaches poll, and 10-time champion Farmingdale State College received all six possible first-place votes to top the tally.

Led by senior Chris Fischer, the 2017 Skyline Conference Golf Championship medalist, head coach George Cangero's Rams received the maximum 36 voting points in the poll (institutions were not permitted to vote for their own team). Last season's runner-up, Mount Saint Mary College, placed second on the ledger (31 points, one first-place vote), while St. Joseph's College-Long Island (25 pts.) checked in at third.

The 2018 Skyline Conference Golf Championship will be conducted Sunday-Monday, Oct. 21-22, at Baiting Hollow (N.Y.) Club. The team champion of the 36-hole competition will receive the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, which is held in May.
