NEW YORK – The Skyline Conference’s 10 men’s lacrosse head coaches have cast their votes for the 2017 all-conference team, and Mount Saint Mary College junior midfielder Dylan De Meo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Year after ranking near the top of the national scoring leaders throughout the campaign.
Montclair State University senior defender Ryan Young (Jackson, N.J.) repeats as Defensive Player of the Year, while Farmingdale State College freshman attacker Ryan Wieczorek (W. Islip, N.Y.) garners Rookie of the Year accolades after firing home a conference-best 69 goals. Stockton University eighth-year mentor Kevin Zulauf has been voted Coach of the Year by his peers for the second time in three seasons.
At press time, De Meo ranks No. 2 nationally in assists (3.94/gm.) and points (6.44/gm.), after posting a 40-65-105 scoring line on the season. He helped direct the Knights’ offense to a 12.88 goals per game average.
Young enters the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship with 121 ground balls in his senior campaign, and has helped the nine-time-consecutive Skyline champion Red Hawks to limit the opposition to just 7.89 goals per contest.
Wieczorek is tied for the national lead with 13 man-up goals in his freshman season, and his 3.83 goals per game average ranks No. 5 nationally.
