Yeshiva Tops 2017 Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll

NEW YORK - The men's tennis coaches of the Skyline Conference have cast their votes in the 2017 preseason coaches poll, and three-time defending champion Yeshiva University is at the top of the tally.

Head coach Jon Rubinstein's Maccabees (13-4 / 7-0 Skyline in '16) are three-time defending champions, and garnered seven of nine possible first-place votes en route to 62 voting points.

Mount Saint Mary College (11-4 / 6-1) nabbed one first-place vote en route to 52 points on the ledger, while 2016 conference finalist Farmingdale State College (11-6 / 5-2) earned 49 points. Skyline Conference returnee, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (9-5 / 4-4 Landmark) received the remaining first-place vote and checks in with a fourth-place total of 43 points.

Rounding out the poll are: SUNY Purchase College (39 points); Sarah Lawrence College (28); St. Joseph's College-Long Island (27); St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn (15); and The Sage Colleges (9).

The six-team, 2017 Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Championship will commence on May 2, with semifinals take place on May 4. The championship round is scheduled for May 6 (accommodations will be made for religious observances, if necessary), with the victor capturing the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
