NEW YORK| The Skyline Conference's 10 women's soccer coaches have voted on their 2017 all-conference teams, and the Mount Saint Mary College senior duo of winger Destiny Ribadeneyra and back Bridget McKeever have earned Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year accolades, respectively.
Their second-year mentor, Chris Lyn, was named Coach of the Year by his peers, while St. Joseph's-Brooklyn freshman striker Deserae Sequeira has been named Rookie of the Year.
Ribadeneyra ranks No. 16 in NCAA Division III in assists per game (0.70), while ranking 17th in points per game (2.70). Her 14 assists top the Skyline leaderboard, while her 20 goals rank No. 2.
McKeever has been named Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season, after leading the Knights to an undefeated regular season in conference play, and a 15-4-2 record overall. She collected 43 points (16 g, 11 a) on the season, and helped MSMC's defense to a conference-best 0.75 goals against average that ranks No. 57 nationally.
Sequeira burst onto the scene with a conference-best 23 goals in her freshman campaign, while adding 11 assists for a Skyline-best 57 points. She ranks Nos. 5 and 7 nationally in points (3.56) and goals (1.44) per game, respectively.
A University of North Carolina graduate, Lyn directed Mount Saint Mary to a 15-4-2 mark in 2017, including a 9-0 ledger in regular-season conference action.
McKeever, Ribadeneyra and Sequeira are joined in the all-conference first-team by: Daniella Ford, Taylor Howard, Tara Lyons and Erin Purack of Farmingdale State; Sarah Wright of Maritime; Allison Jones and Nicolette Wurglics of Mount Saint Mary; Julia McGowan of Mount Saint Vincent; Nina Brennan and Brett Robison of Purchase; and Kristin Carroll and Christina Gagliardi of St. Joseph's-Long Island.
