PURCHASE, N.Y.| The 2017 Skyline Conference Cross Country Championships took place Wednesday afternoon on the campus of Purchase College, with the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-Long Island and SUNY Maritime College taking home the women's and men's team titles, respectively.

In the women's 6,000-meter race, St. Joseph's-Long Island took home its 10th title in the last 12 years, with senior Erin MacDonell (24:24.73, 2nd) and freshman Meagan Haviland (24:58.28, 5th) both placing in the top five. The Golden Eagles' 48 points was three better than second-place Farmingdale State College (51), and 21 better than third-place Sarah Lawrence College (69).

Farmingdale State sophomore Erin Lettieri was named Runner of the Year after winning the race with a time of 23:39.81, while Haviland earned Rookie of the Year praise. St. Joseph's-Long Island mentor Jim Crowley was voted Coach of the Year by his peers.

Maritime (67 pts.) was three points better on the men's side than defending champion U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (70), who received a first-place and Runner of the Year finish from senior Austin MacElrevey (26:31.67, 8k). The victorious Privateers, who earned their second title in the last three seasons, picked up three top-15 finishes, including Sean Hobson (27:27.15) and Curtis Bates (27:44.84) finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Purchase freshman Andres Cordoba was named Rookie of the Year, while USMMA's David Lawrence was voted Coach of the Year by his peers.
