Pairings Set For Finals Of Skyline Basketball Championships

MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Top-seeded Purchase (26-2) will face No. 2 Mount Saint Mary (21-5) on Saturday in the finals of the 2014 Skyline Championship.  PC recorded an 88-73 semifinal victory over No. 5 Old Westbury as senior Andre Nixon and center Joel Neri scored 21 points apiece.  Forward David Haughton grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds for the Panthers, who seek their fourth league championship in five season. Mount Saint Mary utilized a balanced attack in its 95-75 win over No. 3 Farmingdale State as senior Joe Henain scored a career-best 26 points to lead five players in double figures.  The Knights seek their first men's basketball title since 2005.   RECAP

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

No. 3 Sage (16-9) will square off against No. 4 Mount Saint Vincent (18-8) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the finals of the Skyline Women's Basketball Championship after both programs earned semifinal road victories.  

Junior guard Megan Bowman scored a game-high 23 points and center Amie Jefferson chipped in 17 points and 12 boards as Sage posted a 73-66 win at No. 2 Purchase.  The Gators forced 16 turnovers to earn its first-ever berth in the finals. RECAP 

Junior center Kelly Fraser of Mount Saint Vincent compiled 28 points and 21 rebounds for her 20th double-double effort of the year as the Dolphins knocked off top-seeded Farmingdale State, 76-59.  Freshman Christina Barone added 13 points for the Dolphins, who will make their first-ever appearance in the Skyline finals.  RECAP
