Kean Tabbed To Defend Its Skyline Men's Volleyball Championship

NEW YORK, N.Y. – With the return of reigning Skyline Player of the Year and second-team All-American Steve Vahalla, Kean has been selected to capture the 2013 men’s volleyball crown in voting conducted by the league’s eight head coaches. 

Ranked 12th in the 2013 AVCA Preseason Poll, Kean compiled a 25-11 overall record a year ago – including a 13-1 ledger in its inaugural season in the conference - and seized the 2012 Skyline Championship with a 3-0 win over Ramapo. 

The Cougars received seven first-place votes and amassed 49 points, while 2012 ECAC champion Ramapo placed second in the voting with 41 points.  NJCU garnered one first-place vote and finished third with 37 overall points, followed by Sage (33), NYU-Poly (23), Mount Saint Vincent (21), Yeshiva (12) and Purchase (8).    

The four-team Skyline Men’s Volleyball Championship will be held on Saturday, Apr. 13.
