Opening Round Complete At The 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship

Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team posted a round one total of 323 and is tied for 31st place at the NCAA Division III National Championships held at Mission Inn Resort. The Rams played the El Campeon course this afternoon and will begin play on Las Colinas on Wed. morning at 7:50 a.m.

Sophomore John Michael Haining carded a round of 77, while sophomore Adam Larkin shot a 78 for Farmingdale State. Freshman Matt Pollock posted an 82 despite two doubles and a triple bogey.

Oglethorpe University leads the championship after a day one team-total of 285 (3-under par) and the Claremont Mudd Scripps are in second place, four strokes behind Oglethorpe.

Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia and Claremont's Brad Shigezawa each shot 4-under par 68's and hold a two stroke lead individually.
